12Feb.-Dragon Storytime and Colouring In , 11am. Jarrold's
Come and hear some magical dragon stories and colour in your own dragon to take home with you. This event takes place in the Children's Book department on the ground floor of the store


12-27 Dragon Egg Trail

Dragons have laid eggs all around the city. Use the free trail map to spot them! Download a trail map from www.heritagecity.org/dragonf estival or pick one up from St Gregory's Centre for the Arts and Norwih Tourist Informatino Cente. Suitable for all ages
 
12 Feb -  27 Feb . Dragon Festival Montage randomly throughout the day 7am-11pm.
A programme of film, animation and images will be screened at random intervals on Norwich's Big Screen throughout the festival. To confirm screenings please visit www.chapelfield.co.uk/dragon closer to the event. Suitable for all ages


12-27 Shop window dragons. Shop windows across the city
Several city centre shops, including Colman's Mustard Shop & Museum, will have a series of fun, scary and beautiful dragon sculptures and images in their shop windows. look out for them around the city during the Festival




13 Feb.- Dragon Crafts 2.15-4pm. Norfolk & Norwich Millennium Library
Drop in to the Children's Library at the Norfolk and Norwich Millennium Library and take part in this fun filled free dragon craft afternoon. The activities in this event are aimed at children between 8-13 years old.

Dragons on a Sunday, 2-4pm. Norfolk & Norwich Millennium Library
Come and join us in the Children's Library for dragon-based stories and activities for the under 8s and their families. Please no unaccompanied under 8s

14-26 Feb. The Dragon's Lair 10am-5pm. Fusion at the Forum, Norwich
Are you brave enough to enter the Dragon's Lair and meet the Dragons of Norwich? Come into Fusion and enjoy films and images of dragons old and new around Norwich and of the Dragon Festival itself. Aimed at all ages




15 Feb.- Make a Clay Dragon Model  Norfolk & Norwich Millennium Library,
2-4pm.
Come and get creative with clay! Join us on the 1st floor of the Library and make your own clay dragon to take away. This fun filled hands on activity is suitable for children and families of all ages


19 Feb. 'Beasts Unite' Dragon Procession. 2.30-7pm. Across the city
 Meet at Norwich Castle or St Gregory's Centre for the Arts at 2.30pm to watch a colourful procession dancing and performing towards The Forum, followed by refreshments and storytelling at St Gregory's Centre for the Arts
 
Dads' Time: Dragons 11-11.30am. Norfolk &Norwich Millennium Library
Come along to our Dads' Time session where there will be plenty of dragon-themed stories and hands on activities. This event is suitable for early years children. This activity is also suitable for mums and grandparents

Dangerous Dragons & Degrees 10am-3pm. The FORUM
Run by University of East Anglia students, this event offers a day of fun interactive dragon-themed activities for the whole family. Listen to dragon stories, help create a collage, and learn about bites and burns! Suitable for all ages

George and the Dragon Storytelling and Book-signing, 2pm.Waterstone's, Castle Street branch
Christopher Wormell is the author and illustrator of the George and the Dragon series of picture books for children. He will be in store telling stories and drawing pictures between 2-3pm. You can buy a signed copy of the book

Legends from the Dragon's Den, 12-2.30pm and 3.30-5.30pm. St Gregory's Centre for the Arts
A storytelling workshop that lets you create and take away your own Legend Card about the origin and adventures of the Dragon of Norwich. Drop in and add to the legend. Run by the UEA's Creative Writing Society, it is aimed at all ages

Make a Dragon, 11am. Jarrolds
Get creative and make your own dragon with our art and craft team! This event takes place in the Art and Craft department on the top floor of the store. All children must be accompanied by an adult. To book visit the Customer Service desk on floor 2 instore or call 01603 660661


19-27 The Story of St George, 10am-4.30pm Mon-Sat and 1pm-4.30pm Sun. Norwich Castle
Come along and join us as we look into the fact and fiction surrounding St George. Learn about the myths, arms and armour as well as who the real St George was. Event included in museum admission. Suitable for all ages.

20 Feb.-25 Feb.  Crafty Dragons  10am-4pm.  The FORUM
Help decorate a 'life-size' dragon, created by The Hamlet Centre, using a variety of materials and techniques. There will also be the chance to have a go at other dragon-themed arts and crafts activities suitable for the whole family

Festival of the Dragon Moon  2.30pm. Norwich Puppet Theatre
This Chinese Palm Puppet performance tells the adventure of T'ang, as she attempts to save her friend Yip Yok the Yak and be back in time to prepare for the 'Dragon Moon' festivities. Families with 4 - 11 year olds will love this magical tale

Tall Tales 10.30am-3.30pm Dragon Hall
Join Dragon Hall's very own storytellers, as they entertain you on your visit to Dragon Hall with Tall Tales of Scoundrels, Damsels and Dragons! Then make up your own story by creating a Dragon Hall inspired flip book. Suitable for all ages. Special festival discount: Adults £4 (incl. seniors), Children £2.50 (under 16), Under 5s free, Families £12.00 (up to 2 adults and 3 children under 16). All the way from their lairs in Wales come a cast of many charming dragons in three wonderful performances. Dragon Hood and the Golden Arrow, 11am-12pm. Dragons Interactive, 1-2pm. 21-25 Dragonomy Week Workshops 11am, 12pm, 2pm and 3pm. Inspire Discovery Centre
Inspire will be running special science-based workshops at 11am, 12pm, 2pm and 3pm revolving around the theme of dragons, where children get to make and take home their creations. Workshops last 25mins. Suitable from early years to mid-teens. Workshops 20 places each (tickets available from the front desk on the day). Normal entry prices apply (£4.50 adults, £4 children 4-16yrs and concessions, £13 family ticket) Workshops cost £1.50 for materials

21-25 Dragonomy Week: Fire and Ice Show 1pm. Inspire Discovery Centre
Written especially for the festival, the Fire and Ice Show at 1pm includes daring science feats that will explain the science behind dragons whilst amazing you with incredible experiments! Show lasts 25mins. Suitable from early years to mid-teens. Show is included in normal entry prices (£4.50 adults, £4.00 children 4-16yrs and concessions, £13.00 family ticket).


21-25 Explore and Draw, 9.30-3.30pm. The Great Hospital
Explore the 15th century Refectory in the Great Hospital and discover the six dragons in the roof beams. Draw and paint all types of dragons with the chance to win a £10 WH Smith gift voucher for the best drawing in the 3 age categories

22- Catch the Dragon 11am-14pm. Norfolk & Norwich Millennium Library
Come into the Children's Library and make your own flying paper dragon in association with Inspire Discovery Centre. This event is aimed at children from early years to early teens.

Children’s Writing Workshop 10.30am- 4.30pm. Norwich Arts Centre

Does your child have a talent for stories and a flair for language?

This fun and dynamic workshop will introduce the basic structure of stories so they can turn the ramblings of fertile imagination into well-shaped narratives. Each child will take home a simple book made, written and illustrated by themselves.

Family Dragon Puppet Making Workshop and St George's Trail, 10am-4pm. Norwich Cathedral
Make your own unique dragon puppet with experts from the Norwich Puppet Theatre then hunt the dragons in the Cathedral and cloister with a dragon trail. Aimed at families / carers with children from 3 - 11 years old.

Medieval Music 2-3.30pm. The Great Hospital
Transport yourself back in time with the sound of Pearl in the Egg Medieval Musicians in Birkbeck Hall. Experience this musical duo performing in full medieval costume playing many weird and wonderful authentic instruments

22-27 Object of the Holiday: Family Fun 11am-4pm. Sainsbury Centre for Visual Art
See the pair of Chinese dragons from the Sainsbury Centre's collection and try your hand at making your own dragon at the family activity table. There will be fun facts, trails, drawing challenges and more.The event is aimed at all ages

23 Feb.- Dragon Hall's Creative Spraw. 10am-12pm (7-12 yr olds) and 2-4pm (13-16 yr olds) Dragon Hall
Join award-winning local author, poet and writer John Osborne at this creative writing workshop. Compose your own story or poem and perform your prose! Superheroes Comic Strip Ages 8-13, 10.30am- 1pm : £20.00 Norwich Arts Centre
Using simple techniques you can create and star in your own comic strip. Take crazy photographs. Add effects and graphics. One of the most famous medieval tales of all time told through rod and glove puppetry by Garlic Puppet Theatre. Wit, humour and inventiveness make this award-winning production truly enthralling. Recommended for children aged 5 and over

24- Dear Dragon: Meet and Draw with An Vrombaut 1pm-4pm. Fusion at the Forum, Norwich
 Children's author and Ghent native An Vrombaut will be reading her book 'Dear Dragon' and will help children draw their own dragon. The 'Dear Dragon' series has just been made into a TV show for Playhouse Disney.

Create your own dragon character to feature in a mix and match story. Write sections of story to swap with others. Then, learn how to draw the results with children's author/illustrator Illona Clark. Aimed at 9-13 year olds

Dragons On Parade, 10-11.30am, 12-1.30pm, 2-3.30pm. The Guildhall
Help prepare for the procession of St George. Create banners, candle holders and family coats of arms. Once ready, join the procession led by musicians in full Medieval costume. Families and children of all ages are welcome

Tales of Dragons and Knights 3.45-4.45pm. The Guildhall
Join the popular Yarnsmith of Norwich to hear exciting tales of dastardly dragons, brave knights and King Arthur's Court inside the medieval Guildhall. 26 Feb.-Cathedral Dragons 12pm., 2pm. & 4pm.The Cathedral of St John the Baptist
Tour of the Cathedral focusing on dragon sculptures, ending with the opportunity for children to make their own dragons out of recycled materials. This event is aimed at children between the ages of 7-14.        £4 pp (includes materials for dragons). Pre-booking is essential.  Chinese Dragon Dance. 1.30pm & 2.30pm. Outside John Lewis on All Saints Green
 Celebrating the global appeal of dragons, there will be a Chinese Dragon Dance with live music outside John Lewis. Come along to hear drums, cymbals and gongs accompany the energetic nine-person dragon dance

Dragon Storytelling and Face Painting 10am-4pm. John Lewis
Children can visit the toy department at John Lewis to join in with storytelling from classic children's tales of dragons. Children can also have their face painted. The toy department can be found on the First floor

Manga Drawing Workshop, 11am & 2pm. Norfolk &Norwich Millennium Library
Learn how to draw in the popular animation style of Japanese comic books at our dragon-themed Manga drawing workshops run by a professional Manga artist from the Sweatshop Studios. Aimed at 7-14 year olds it takes place on the Ground Floor. Workshops last 90 minutes

27 Feb.- Meet the Dragons 11am-4pm. Blackfriars' Hall
See lizards from around the world together with snakes and tortoises as well as other creatures such as frogs, newts, spiders, beetles and insects. There will be an opportunity to handle some of these animals under supervision. Suitable for all ages.
